FAQs

Does an institutional plan take the place of strategic planning?

An institutional plan can largely consist of a strategic plan. Or an organization can decide to focus on a more discrete component such as an organizational assessment, or HR audit.

What sort of facilitation does CJAM lead; do you design the program?

Facilitations can take the shape of staff and board planning retreats, team building, community listening sessions, and more. Each facilitation is designed according to the organization’s needs and can be a standalone effort or a part of a larger project such as a design charrette, artist conference, or multi-entity collaboration.

Does CJAM lead staff searches as a feature of institutional planning?

CJAM leads executive staff searches as a component of a wider institutional planning effort. We are not a search firm. However, through the work of an organizational assessment or strategic plan, we come to know organizations intimately and we can therefore best search for and cultivate relationships with a new executive leader.
